My wife and I headed out of Southern California on our way to the Iowa rally driving the Mininger Carryall.We left around 8:30 am and pulled into St George ,Utah about 8:30 pm , just under 400 miles.
The 8 valve ran like a sewing machine, keeping up with traffic was no problem, speed limit was 75 for most of it which was about 1950 rpms and while passing it never went above 2150. EGT’S ran between 600 and 800 going up the grades with only one down shift to fourth on the grade outside of Baker, boost ran between 15 and 20. I’m running 4:56 ratios, with an NV4500 riding on 40’s.
