Over the years I've had two vehicles, both G.M. products, with difficult to find fuel line leaks. Both cases it was where the fuel line passed over the rear axle. Being the point was above the fuel tank there was never a visual leak, only a vacuum leak. Vehicle's would most times start and run okay. Sometimes had to 'prime' carb if sitting for a few days. I went through all the usual culprits. Being in the refrigeration trade, I charged fuel line with Freon and used a leak detector to locate leak. Test is usually done by 'smoking' the line. Any local repair shop should be able to do it. I see homemade smoke machines on YouTube that can be made for next to nothing in about an hour.
