If the oil seals are the same then the sleeve will work on the 1/2 ton.
The Survival Manual has been out of print for many years. NAPA and CarQuest started changing their part numbers back then, and I need to go through and verify the new part numbers. I've had several people ask about the manuals lately, so I'm thinking about redoing the whole thing. It might be a good winter project for this year.
