Good question i m assuming the 1/2 ton front spindle is diff. than the 1/2 ton rear spimdle as the hubs appear to be diff. but the spindles couldbe the same

I asked dc once if the rear 1/2 ton spindle was the same as the wdx wm and he said yes and l believe he said they take same bearings

So i am basing my criteria on what he said

So since you said the 1/2 ton spindle is a diff part no. I am assuming that it is the front spindle and is diff than the 1/2 rear spindle is there a part no. For the rear 1/2 spindle

I bought a parts truck way back in the day from a texas oil field outfit that had dual wheels which they made by moving the centers out and welded in place they also turned the od of the brake drum a hair so the inner dually wheels cleared the drums i used the wheels and drums on my 47 wdx

When i took the wheels and drums off the parts truck both spindles were cracked the frame had also been reinforced

No telling how much they overloaded the truck cuz it had a massive spring pack with overload springs

If the half ton spindle is the same the xtra load from larger tires and the fact that the pw wheel flange on the hub was moved out on the hub where as the 1/2 rear hub has the flange further in like most dually hubs adding more load out on the end of the spindle hence i speculate that the spindle could flex but i could be out in left field
