They are handy and every truck should have one. Years ago I was building a house fr some people. The client's Chevy pickup started smoking between the hood and the fenders and out the grill. The cab was filling up with smoke. I grabbed my fire extinguisher, ran over to open the hood and realized it had a release inside the cab, which was now full of smoke. For some reason the client had locked the doors and by the time we got to them and got their keys the doors were too hot to open, the paint was burned off the hood, and flames were eating the dashboard. We all stood there and watched helplessly as it burned. But then, it was a Chevy. :)
