That drum is really cool looking compared to the later, plain Jane drum. When I bought my capstan winch from Randy Baker I switched drums to keep the old one. Just cooler looking. Not sure which is stronger, since I have never broken the end of a cable drum before. :) Bull gear, yes. Cable, yes. Chain, yes. Hook, yes. Shear pin, yes. Never a drum.
