A lot of truth there Marty. They can’t ride their brakes. I have smelled too many truck brakes that have gotten too hot. I remember a semi on its side in the middle of the road at the bottom of the pass in Ashland OR. It’s tires were on fire. Nothing else seemed to be wrong. I bet he just used his brakes too much and things got really hot. I have been down that grade so many times with a large trailer behind my pickup I have learned to respect that hill.

I have noticed that a lot of the speeding trucks are gone these days especially in the California Central Valley. I don’t know if the cops have made progress or if the tracking devices on the trucks have dampened it. I have also herd that the insurance companies have sent notice that they will not cover accidents where the truck has exceeded certain speeds. Specifically, if the truck is exceeding the rated speed of its tires. I understand that a lot of the tires are rated for 65 MPH. Something has changed as most trucks seem to be going 65 or less.
