A month ago I posted My issues with high idle. One suggestion was to send the carb to Treadwell Carburetor which I did and they just called me to say that the idle circuit was repaired. Not sure what they found and will inquire further. The other thought was a vacuum leak. I removed the manifolds and replaced the gasket between the intake and exhaust since I wanted it loose before tightening up on the head. I also sealed up a couple of tapped holes in the intake manifold. Does anyone recommend any copper spray on the manifold to head surface? I have never used any compound but want to be extra cautions since I am trying to resolve the idle problem once and for all. be happy to see the truck run at proper idle.
