You are absolutely right. Went back in my records and on 05/24/16 Kevin Clause posted a parts book phot of the left and right door hinge reinforcement plates that were available from Dodge. The photo came out of the 1948 PW parts manual. I had a machinist make up very similar plates for my WC lower door hinges. That put an end to the cracks in the door.
