The link below is to an image of the shaft for the PTO. As you can see both shafts are the same. VPW and MWM state in their catalogs that the shaft is used on the synchronized transmission only. The PW Parts Book covering the 46-56 models list the shaft for all three PTOs. The lower shaft is out of my 56 Big Spur Gear transmission PTO and is the same as the upper shaft. Just passing this along in case you need a shaft for one of the spur gear PTOs. View in slideshow.
