That was sad to hear of the death.
Was this for the 41 year old Captain from the Tahoe Helitack Crew that was killed while conducting a prescribed burn in Region 8 at the Sam Houston National Forest in Texas.
I lost a High School friend in a Wild Fire years ago.
That is why my 48 will always remain as a Wild Fire Apparatus. It was a former Chiefs truck repurposed to Pumper in 57. When I got the truck, the District Chief remembered the truck when he started with the Department in 58. I promised him I would never remove its Badge or Gold leaf.
