In times past I was much more harsh and quick to show my contempt over, what I saw, was the johnny-come-lately who was not a true mopar or PW fan but either, just jumping on the bandwagon of another vehicle fad, An opportunist just looking to make a buck on a new fad by buying any and all PWs to part out, and the hobbyist/collector who drove the price of and exhausted the supply of, NOS parts they used on trucks that already had good parts to begin with and either thought to make a buck outright or lost interest once the truck was completed and still tried to get the outrageous amount they put into the truck, back out of it.
I just ask the price these days and if I consider it too high I might try a little to get it down but otherwise I just keep looking for what I consider a better/fairer deal. I now rarely say anything about prices or other stuff that used to grind my gears. Not because I fear or even care what anyone else thinks of me, but because people are going to do what people want to do no matter what anyone points out no matter how true it is in nature.
Some opinions I read are common nowadays and reflect the politically correct mindset that most of todays society has surcome to.
But when I get ready to speak my mind, I will. And if others are so thin-skinned and lack the ability to reason or consider a difference in opinion then,"run away", "take your ball and go home" If you can't sit around the fire and express yourself like a man, with the men, then go sit with the women and whine about how the men were mean to you!
I guess I'm a bad person now because I spoke my mind and didn't try to be politically correct. But having done so, I feel so much better now! Makes me wanna take the PW and go pull some stumps!
I believe in time and not too far away, times will get hard and that will weed out the johnny come latelies as they will let those precious PWs they hold captive, go to real Mopar/PW fans and once again they will be used and appreciated for more than a buck or a show piece.
There are only so many PWs and parts to be had. If you get too many folks buying shell and beater trucks trying to restore them and buying up needed parts, there will be that many less parts for those that actually use and need their trucks.
But as I said, No matter what you say , people are going to do what they want to do be it the right or wrong thing. I guess its just the "swim against the current" side of my pisces nature that made me respond to, what I saw, as a trend to stifle freedom and liberty of independent thought and speach and impair that independent thinking with a political correctness mindset.SOMA,SOMA,SOMA
