i had one like that --a bow in the top middle. i took it off-layed it down on old piece of carpet--bow side up and then slowly ran over it several times with front tire of truck--i still had a minor bow so added thin pieces of wood to one end of tailgate--when i got to the right height with the wood bow went away. at least i had good results!
