Hi Clint,
I took this picture from my copy of 1963-1968 truck parts manual. It shows the rubber gasket seal used here, but the part number for the gasket is not listed in the parts list section.
The NOS thermostat did not come with the rubber gasket, I bought that separate thinking I might have needed it.
I think Milo is right, I don't think I'll need it and can just use the thermostat as is without the rubber gasket. But its interesting that they show it here in the manual being used.
