Kevin Foust Tracy Spencer They broke with less than 100HP originally so they don't stand much of a chance with an engine change. 5 times the power will twist them off in a hurry, even with babying.

Tracy Spencer Kevin Foust Torque is more of a problem than horsepower, you’re right, they need an upgrade. They may have been damaged and finally let loose. I’ve used my M43 many times to pull my tractor out from being stuck.

Dominic Fontaine Tracy Spencer New isn’t too bad. I got sick of it and I just got a Dana 60 and a Dana 70. That should be the end of my axle issues.

Evan Tierney Yeah I'm thinking I'll swap a different axle under it. I would like to stay with the vintage theme though thinking my dually donor truck might work if the ratio checks close. Not a road use truck.

Dominic Fontaine Evan Tierney there’s nothing sacred about old axles, they all look the same. After twisting a few axles off, I got sick of it.

Evan Tierney This truck is just our family farm truck used for dragging logs and such though. One day I'd like to build a second gen based truck though. I've got several chassis laying around just no more bodies

Evan Tierney Yours looks sweet Dominic Fontaine. I'm just not ready to update this one yet I want to remember it old like it was, been in the family for 50 years. Started rebuilding it with not much left a few years ago. Just want something vintage but also stronger.

Dominic Fontaine Tracy Spencer I’ve done everything twice🥵😡. I updated it from as close to stock 1st after $$$💸💸💸thousands spent and it sort of stopped snapping axles. The hubs kept snapping and my options were very limiting.
After replacing the whole axle assembly, no more issues and I can run 1000hp if I’m ever possessed.

Michael Lacefield Bill Hedges there're a tough truck. Had mine since 1992. Daily driver. I put a Chev 350 in her. Same rear ends. Just don't rev her up and drop the clutch. Owned a 61 British Land Rover...now there is a vehicle that will eat up half shafts....

Dominic Fontaine Bill Hedges New, not NOS, aren’t that bad if your rolling a stock truck and go very easy.
