One of the most critical assessments is determining how much of the actual resto or fabrication you can and will do yourself. Many of the guys on this forum can literally do it all. Me, I had to farm out a lot of the body work and drive line work. Expensive and I mean expensive. Over ten years of fun just looking for parts I could afford. Don't be hesitant to ask questions on this forum. It's been a great source for me. And last, try to make it to a Rally or two, even if you've not got it operational. You'll find parts, info, and friends like no other place.
