Here’s my experience in Indiana;
I bought a 1950 advertised in Facebook market, it had a serial number plate from another Dodge truck, a ‘46 wf32. No readable serial number on the frame. Figured it to be 1950 by all the parts. Chrysler couldn’t help look up information. After three trips to BMV and police inspection I expect a title in the mail any day. They don’t really care what it is as long as there is no searchable history of the serial (vin) number. Mine is civilian but purchased by military. May never have been plated.
