Don't even get me started about dealing with Boulder County! But I had one job I was doing for a friend - a super quick turn around before they moved in - moving interior walls and a big new kitchen. We had to pull a permit to remodel a free standing garage into an office space for his business, but everything was get-er-done yesterday. No problem.
So the electrical inspector finds that the underground service to the garage is not up to code, and wants to see the main panel, which is right next to the now-demoed kitchen. He's one of those guys that will stay on an inspection until he finds a problem, but he gets tunnel vision too. We stop all work in the house, let the inspector in through the garage, and the homeowner stands in the doorway between the panel and the kitchen, looking at the main panel. The inspector comes in, fools around in the panel for about 10 minutes, tells us what we need to do, and then leaves.
