Ha Ha. I used to do the same thing, and taught that to my sons. Some inspectors are just anal about finding something, so if you make them look too hard they will never leave you alone. Leave off a few hangers or don't fill all hole in the hangers with nails, and they will usually be happy that they found something.
My brother used to bring a bottle of whiskey on inspection day, but that was a lot less risky 50 years ago than today. :)
