I am preparing to rebuild the 251 engine in my Power Wagon and a thought occurred to me while I was at the dealer getting the engine oil cooler replaced on my 2014 Dodge Journey.

Would installing one on the 251 engine in the Power Wagon be beneficial? I do mostly street driving, 45 to 55 mph is common speeds in my truck. I'm thinking of maybe towing a trailer at some point as well on special occasions.

Or is this just simply a nice service convenience for extra cooling capacity in modern engines in modern automobiles that are pushing high horsepower numbers from small displacement engines?
