Update: They are out! I ended up using a combination of everyone's thoughts and ideas. I made up a puller with scrap I had lying around, a short piece of angle for the pulling bar with a 1/2" carriage bolt and flat washers ground flat on two sides to fit through the gasket and bushing. The drivers side, which I thought would be the toughest, pulled right out. The passenger side was another story....I finally had success using the die grinder and grinding the brass bushing all the way through, then it still took a tremendous amount of pressure using the threaded rod. Once I had this one out, I observed a old nick in the housing and corresponding damage to the original brass bushing where the brass bushing had been forced into the housing over this damaged area, causing it to be jammed tightly. I just wanted to thank everyone for their help and ideas. Hang tight, I'm sure I'll have more questions as I go along.
