Thanks for the responses so far. I guess my intention was not clear. Believe me, I have no intention of doing this at home. Reason for my question regarding the fit between rod and bushing is because my machinist asked me to find out how much interference there should be. One of the rods is damaged and needs an oversize bushing, and he apparently doesn't have a spec for the interference to know what bore dimension he should machine it to. If all the rods were in good shape, I suppose he would just put new standard size bushings into them and not need to worry about the exact amount of interference.
Then when searching for the interference spec, that's when I discovered that some rod bushings need to be burnished to fit the rod properly, hence my question about burnishing. I looked through all four of my flathead manuals and none of them say anything about burnishing these bushings.
