Here is a good engineering video comparing the pros/cons between engines. You get 10% less fuel efficiency, and comparing the cost per gallon, LPG is cheaper beyond the 10%. It also doesn't wash out the lubricants from piston/cylinders like gasoline so you get a 50% increase in engine life. My Dad had a 78 Ford truck with a 351 Cleveland and LPG setup, drove the truck 200,000+ miles experiencing no internal engine damage. Yes, it didn't create power like gasoline, but it gets the job done at a cheaper cost.
