American manufacturing for the most part is in 3rd world countries, cheap labor. Take Craftsman tools for example, made in China with 30% less tool steel. Ever wonder why foreign countries have high tariffs on American made products, and America has low tariffs on foreign products or allow foreign investors to come and make their products in the U.S.? This is something elected officials have allowed, being investors themselves, and the American people tolerate or want for cheaper products. As long as we buy into the global market economy, this will drive the products available to us.
