I have pulled a lot of that old "filler" out on trucks and replaced it with new. It looked just like the door "weathercord" that surrounded the door openings both in material and dimensions. In fact, I believe Power-Wagon parts retailers sell both the filler and the weathercord off the same roll. But, I see in the parts manuals that they each have their own unique part numbers - 1097 571 for filler and 902 818 for weathercord.

Each time I open my parts manuals I learn something new. I now see the "anit-squeak" you mention. It too shows a different part number from the fender "welt" used between the rear fenders and pickup body - 313 073 for anti-squeak and 356 513 for welt.

This leads me to believe that the front fender anti-squeak probably did not have a visible bead at the joint like the rear fender welt?

I could not see anything on your link, but I have seen "T" rubber used for filler.

Additional things I learned. The part manuals up to 1951 do not list the filler. This was first listed for Power-Wagons beginning in 1951. (Not completely surprised as there were a lot of things the early parts lists did not show). And, starting in 1951, the font fenders and splash shields got new part numbers.

Interesting.
