Exactly, few of the younger generations have the space, money, experience, or time to maintain what is essentially a garage queen or off-road toy.
I'd love to have an original truck to play with, but then I would also have to have a tow rig to be able to take it somewhere I could take it off-road, or to any show not more than down the road, and having a truck to tow my truck just seems crazy. Hell even with all my mods it's still not a great vehicle for long trips with stock axles and suspension.
It's great there's interest in these great trucks, and I hate seeing the interesting engineering they contain be tossed aside for more modern gear, but I totally understand why it's happening.
