If it's a universal pump, it has to have two things:
- Be mounted as close to the tank as reasonable,
- Be mounted at a 45 degree angle.
After mounting or if you run out of gas, loosening a line fitting close to the engine, will facilitate pressurizing the line. I usually loosen it at the carb.
I see my line is getting a kink, I may need to install a line spring. If you have a rear PTO drive shaft, make sure the line goes over the top - safety.
