This past summer I was approached by a local Hagerty insurance rep who frequents shows and has cars himself. He asked if I had ever considered going to the ISCA (International Show Car Association) Cavalcade of Customs Show in Cincinnati, Ohio. I told him I heard their was a bunch of rules and that I didn't have posts, ropes etc. That and didn't know how to get considered. He then told me if I was interested, he would set it up and take care of the fees, all I had to do was show up. I thought to myself that this was a bucket list thing and here it was laid out in front of me. I told him I would and it was this past weekend. It's a 3 day show and some people travel the circuit for points and such. Lots of locals as well. they had over 500 entrants and super nice stuff there. Surprised me what a spectrum of stuff there was. I'll include a link to the pics I took. (over 400) Thousands of people came out.

It was nice to see Chris Wetherell and catch up some too. I did drive mine down from Dayton which is about 50 miles. Most were trailered and during the show we were hit with 10 inches of snow. they allowed me to stay till Monday when the roads were better and I drove home.

They decide what catagory to put you in and I was in 1949 and down Custom Rod and Pickups. I was blown away at the awards ceremony when I was given 1st place in my class, Best Engine in the Rod Class, Best over all Detail and the Master Builder Award. They had 5 judges from 3 states and 1 from Canada. Felt overwhelmed that truck that has been done for 6 years, driven over 2000 miles alone last year, was able to compete with fresh builds.

I'd again like to thank all on here that helped me along the way when I was building it. Tom Petroff, Paul in New York and many others for offering parts and knowledge to help the "new guy" out. Also would like to thank Joe for providing a place for all of us to meet, talk, encourage and help each other out when we get stuck on something.

I been on here since the first forum and it's like extended family now. Friendships made over the years and going to events make it even more so. When you think about it, it's funny that the love of a certain truck could do all that and connect people. Thank you Dodge Brothers.
