Looking at numerous other posts on various other websites, I see quite a few people who say they've run many tens or hundreds of thousands of miles with scratches or nicks that looked or sounded worse than these, so I'm a little inclined to think they are a big deal. Of course, for every person says they've had no issue running like that, there is also a person saying you shouldn't do it.
