Also, I do plan to use Plastigage to check clearances. Speaking of Plastigage, I remember my dad talking about using it when it first came out. He took an automotive repair class shortly after WWII ended (he had served in the Navy during the war), and when he went to work at a shop, the old timers were still using other methods, and had never heard of Plastigage. They were mighty suspicious and used to give him a hard time about using it until it became more commonplace and they got used to it.
