My old '69 W500 was a former fire truck for the Idaho Forest Service. It had no locking hubs. That made sense to me. If they had the hubs locked out and forgot before they went off road, it could be a disaster.
I eventually bought some Warn hubs for it from...I think Rob Stellar?
Anyway, drive flanges would be the logical and less expensive fix.
