I had Bob Stahl of Veteran Vehicles rebuild one of my differentials last year, and he said I should not use any kind of synthetic gear oil in my differential until I reached a few hundred miles. He said it is so slippery that will interfere with the break-in of the gears. Once I get a few hundred miles on the gears, then I can drain the non-synthetic oil and replace with synthetic oil.
