I'm working with a similar carb set-up right now, trying to fit an air filter. I did find that a WWII Willys MB air horn (the piece which tops the carb and connects to the air filter) fit the top of the carb. I don't know if this will fit the E7T2 specifically, but this changes the angle of the air train 90 degrees, and might give you options for air filters. I'm not finished yet, but thought this might give you an idea.
