The body lines are great on the WC53. It is really a great design. The body is a civilian design that was altered to accommodate the fenders, tailgate, a new nose, 4x4 frame and shortened height wise. The 1/2 Carryall is the first step in the design with open fenders in unaltered wheel wells, tailgate, 4x4 frame and a different front end. The 1/2 ton still has the full body height. I really prefer the looks of the 3/4 ton over the 1/2 ton.
To me the 1/2 tons just look ungainly. I also really like the original style roof insert, which if done right doesn’t leak. I really like that all side windows roll down. I would prefer the barn doors and do like that conversation. The civilian versions all had barn doors if I am correct. Tailgates are such a pain to load over.
It would be cool to find an original 3/4 to civilian Carryall.
