Vaughn: I'm guessing you are talking about the NP420 mated to the 230 L6? I use different length bolts.... As I recall two of them half to be about 2.5" or you they hit the casting when you try to back them out. No of course I'm not smart enough to figure that out ahead of time, so the air tool comes in handy to shorten them when the trans mates up.
And... if the trans doesn't go right in, make sure they sent you the right pilot bushing... took me a while to realize the one "they" sent had the right OD but the ID was smaller than the input shaft on the 420..
