Additionally will you use the truck? What is the terrain like where you live?
Hilly country or if you tow/haul a lot with the truck the 5.7 will probably actually get better mileage (propane aside) as you won't have to work the motor as hard to get the power you want. What transmission is behind them will also make a difference.
All these new turbocharged V6 and even 4 Cyl trucks have good power and can get great fuel economy but not at the same time.
Had a friend who's dad bought the smaller motor in his truck many years ago, but ended up getting the same mileage as his friends with the bigger motor because he had to flog it to climb the hills here in PA.
