To me, it doesn’t matter what numbers are on the frame, what numbers are on the cab...makes no difference so long as it’s been taken to the DMV & they assign a VIN number so the truck is titlable. I mean it’s common for these trucks to be put together from 10 truck, many with no title, illegible VIN on chassis, lost tags...it’s up to DMV to ensure the parts aren’t stollen & the truck has a VIN number that identifies the truck for insurance purposes.
Of course a vehicle like this isn’t as valuable as a one owner truck where the history is known but does it really matter which number we go with? Why is it OK to switch an engine but not a bent frame...or we can install a repo bed but if anyone changes that cab with the tag on it..oh boy there’s gonna be trouble.
Ridiculous. It’s a farm truck.
