Omaha military members support Vietnam veteran to be buried alone
Nov 24, 2018

Many Nebraskans have served, and continue to serve, in the United States military.
Omaha National Cemetery honors those brave men and women who risked their lives for our freedom.
In just a few days, another Omaha-native soldier will be laid to rest.
“I would just really hope to see a huge turnout,” U.S. Air Force member Jodi Jefferson said. “I think it'd be awesome.”
Vietnam veteran Stanley C. Stoltz died nearly a week ago.
Tuesday afternoon, he'll be buried at the cemetery, but it's unclear who will show.
"As a military member, I think it's important that we honor all veterans that have served and this one really struck me since it said that he had no known family,” Jefferson said.
No known family…blood relation anyway.
Jefferson saw Stoltz’s obituary on social media and shared it on her Facebook page.
“It's very important to me that we support this gentleman and honor his service to our country,” Jefferson said.
The Omaha military family caught wind of the ceremony and plan to gather in support of their fallen brother.
“Sometimes we're closer than we are with our own family. Sometimes our families aren't there to enjoy those memories and blessings with us so we rely on our brothers and sisters in arms."
The funeral service is Tuesday morning, with the burial ceremony directly afterwards at Omaha National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
