Tim Peterson came up with the original disc brake design in the late 80's and published a technical article in the PWA in June of 89, showing how to install the brakes using a weld-on caliper mount. Ray Suiter later took Tim's design and fabricated a bolt-on caliper mount for the front and rear axles, which was a substantial improvement in the system. Ray marketed this kit for several decades, but the design goes back to Tim's original work. So when we talk about Ray Suiter's disc brakes, be thinking about Tim Peterson too.
