I think the one word in your post is the show stopper...."Minimal". Sure it can be done with a lot of work and money. I know of no 5 speed od that would be even almost plug n play.
I have never researched this. If you can get the rear of your engine looking like a Dodge 318/360
then dodge had a Bell House that went o a NV-4500. But then for your T Case. Probably the easiest would be a dodge NV4500 out of a 4x4 them marry a NP205 T Case. Then you need centered rear. I can see the $$ climbing like a homesick angel
I you choose to go this route, I can probably help you on the NV-4500 and NP 205 in what to look for to mate them all up.
