I'm not a fan of HF anything. But.... We've bought three of their "Chonda" (Chinese Honda Clones) water pumps several years ago, and shockingly they run like champs. The failures we've had is one spark plug died (guess you can't clone platinum...) and the fuel tank on one started leaking. They stamp out the tanks, and something was wrong in their process.
So we did spend some $$ on a Davey two stage pump powered by a real Honda motor three years ago. The output bearing in the engine failed after two years causing the impellers to hit the housing, causing more cost...
Both the Chonda and Honda get synthetic oil every year.
