Normal oil pressure is 40 pounds at 800rpm for the 230 engine. It's low for an engine that's been rebuilt. There are some things you can do to increase pressure if you want to avoid a teardown, since low pressure after engine warm up usually is excessive clearance between rod/main bearings.

- Replace the oil relief valve plunger spring with the heavier one - CC# 1119996 (green spring).

- VPW sells a higher volume oil pump, I would consider getting to replace the current pump.

- Add a can of "Motor Honey" to thicken the oil for better pressure.

Oil pressure to low will not get enough oil to the moving parts.
