I have a Chrysler “Gold Seal” aluminum Head that I had shaved down .060. I gave the machine shop the specs of the cam I had, ie opening, closing, lift etc along with a steel OEM head gasket. By doing it this way I should not have to worry about a valve hitting the top of the head. I used a steel head gasket over the copper gasket since it doesn’t cause damage to the aluminum head due to corrosion between the dissimilar metals. It should give me about an 8:1 compresssion ratio. Much better than the 6-6.5 I have now on the 237. Haven’t installed it yet. I’m still running the ‘41 “Spitfire” Head as of the moment.
