My fan light problem reminded me something from high school days. One of my friends' parents bought an Oldsmobile from one of our teachers. In those days some garage door openers were designed to respond to the sound of the owner's car. So every time my friend could borrow the Oldsmobile, we would always cruise by the teacher's house and honk the horn, making the door open. :)
