I'll take a leather seal any day especially one that has been rapped in Cosmoline. You can use a chisel to cut the seal and pry it out, but it's not easy, it's made of thick metal, and you can't drive it out from the rear. Best to make a puller, you'll need it for future use anyway. The link will give you an idea how to make it. Soak the seal in motor oil or other lite oil overnight to soften the leather. If the yoke has a mild wear groove, that's ok, but if fairly deep, you'll want to use Redi-sleeve# 99187 centered over the groove. Fill the groove with J.B. Weld or other material prior to installing the sleeve to prevent deformation of the sleeve to the groove.
