That the use of a heavier oil would have yet another positive affect: maybe reduce any seepage around gaskets and seals? At least when the truck is cool and sitting.

One thing I did years ago with a brand new rear difff.
Brand new rebuilt unit and extremely HOT after short rides.

Advice here led me to using the purple synthetic gear oil and it amazingly cooled that unit down.i mean I couldn't believe the difference in temps.
Where I couldn't hold my hand to the diff cover for even a second without pain, after the change the diff was so much cooler I could leave my hand there all day.
Amazing stuff.
I can't remember if there was any noise reduction but it's maybe worth a try?

Especially if it comes in the heavier 140 weight I can only see positive results for u.
