Yeah, I suppose if I completely fill the cavity in the female part of the slip yoke with grease, until it starts coming out of the splines, then it should be pretty evenly distributed, and a then with a few spins, it'll distribute itself the rest of the way.
As for u-joints, I would think they would naturally be pretty evenly filled with grease.
