U-joints are in excellent shape. Slip yokes appear to be nice and tight, too. I have not checked the driveline angle, but it is a stock setup, so should be same as factory, unless the transfer case rubber mounts are rotted, and allowing the transfer case angle to deviate from intended, which is certainly possible.
You mention balancing the rear shaft. What about the middle shaft that goes from the transmission to the transfer case?
