We have one lady near here that patrols the Costco parking lot and others. If she sees any dog in the car she calls the cops. A friend of mine left his dog in the car at Costco on a cloudy 65 degree day with the windows half down. Bang, he comes back to his car and there is s cop. The cop says he has to write a ticket because it was called in. The cop said the car inside temp was 65 degrees and there was water available for the dog. Then the cop proceeds to tell him to contest the ticket and he will be in court to help him fight it as there was no danger at all to the dog period. The cop says he sees the lady a minimum of 3 to four times a day. Apparently , the lady has nothing better to do.

I will agree that on warm days dogs should not be left in cars period. However, when it’s below 60 degrees it fine if there is no sun and it’s for a short time. I take my dog with me a lot in the fall, winter and spring. Summer he stays home a lot.

Young kids and babies should never be left in a car even for less than a minute. Not even considering the heat issue, there are too many bad people out there. Leave your kid in a car, you should be in very deep “chit”.
