Going to a 4bbl from that crappy BBD 2bbl will save you a TON of grief! You'll get better power, and if you stay off the gas, you'll actually get better milage (sorry to disagree!).
The best 4bbl would be an original Carter Thermoquad, but they are scarce and touchy. but with their tiny primaries and HUGE secondaries, you'll get much better milage and oodles more power. While you have the engine apart installing the new intake (Edelbrock Performer), get a Summit 204-214 cam kit, along with a Summit double roller chain kit, and you'll have a very strong performer that will be very reliable as well!
